Right-hander Tim Redding and the Washington Nationals agreed to a $1 million, one-year deal Thursday, avoiding arbitration. Since making his major league debut with the Houston Astros in 2001, Redding only once has made more than 17 starts in a season and he never has thrown more than 176 innings. He’s 24-40 with a 4.91 ERA with four clubs.
